(January 4, 2012, 10:44 pm)「동관왕묘(東關王廟)」 는 서울 동쪽에 있는 관왕묘(關王廟)라는 뜻으로, 3세기 중국 촉나라의 장수 관우(關羽: 162~219)의 제사를 지내기 위한 사당(祠堂)입니다. 임진왜란 때 조선을 도와준 명나라의 요청으로 1601년 (선조 34년)에 지어졌다고 합니다. 줄여서「동묘(東關)」라고 부릅니다.
